Advanced MLA Profiler Option

As an option to the MLA product, advanced profiling on X.400/P772, P42 and ACP120 messages provides automatic and intelligent message distribution based upon the message content.

Following message receipt and initial security processing (if applicable), the MLA Profiler compares the message against a set of defined profiles each of which specify a set message attributes and an associated list of distribution addresses. Should a profile "match" the message being processed, the distribution addresses for that profile will be added to the list of original message recipient addresses.

Once the complete list of addresses is obtained, normal MLA processing continues as follows:

Each Mail List is expanded to its set of intended recipients. The message is split such that one message copy represents only the addresses for a single expanded Mail List and any new recipients derived during profile processing specific to that Mail List. For each outgoing message copy, the P1 envelope will be rebuilt to include the addresses associated with that message copy. Security services are applied as applicable. Each resultant message copy is transmitted to the applicable set of recipient addresses.

Profiles are defined/maintained using a separate MLA Profile Man-Machine-Interface which includes an integrated X.500 Directory User Agent for assistance in assembling profile distribution address lists. Once defined, the profile is stored in a co-located database for subsequent retrieval and use during MLA message processing. Each profile supports weighted zone searches and complex Boolean search criteria for more than 220 attachment types (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, PDF, text, etc.).

Cost savings (software, hardware, maintenance) through elimination of a separate profiling product. Ability to ensure that important and/or critical messages get distributed to the appropriate personnel.
